How Noah Did
A PR and club record on the national outdoor stage
Noah ran 4:39.61 in the Middle School Boys 1 Mile at Nike Outdoor Nationals, setting a new personal record and the all-time Quick Track Club mile record at Hayward Field. Athletic.net also counted the race as new PRs for 1500m in 4:22.14 and 1600m in 4:38.10. He finished 27th out of 102 athletes overall.
Patient early, boxed in, then battling back
The race went out fast, with the field taking off quickly. Noah stayed patient, but that early patience cost him positioning as he got trapped toward the back with athletes blocking his path forward. From there, he had to battle for position throughout the race.
Strong close despite traffic
Noah made up ground over the final 200 to 300 meters by moving outside and passing other runners. His last 100 meters were especially strong, showing that he still had closing speed even after spending much of the race fighting through traffic.
A strong second track season
This was Noah’s first outdoor nationals and his first time racing at Hayward Field. In only his second track season, he finished 27th in the country in the middle school mile and heads into his freshman year of high school with more national-level racing experience, a new PR, and the Quick Track Club all-time mile record.
